Fairphone is looking for a Multiplatform Android Developer with a passion for advancing sustainable mobile technologies. In this role, you’ll help shape the next generation of companion apps for our audio products: the over-ear Fairbuds XL and in-ear Fairbuds.

Both products connect via Bluetooth to Android and iOS apps, allowing users to update firmware and customize sound settings. You’ll be responsible for developing the new generation of these apps, working closely with our Product Owner OS & Apps, Audio Product Manager, and Software Engineers. You’ll join our Software Engineering team, contributing to Fairphone’s mission of creating more ethical, longer-lasting technology.

• Develop the next generation of multiplatform audio companion apps for Android and iOS

• Write unit and integration tests to ensure robustness, usability, and reliability especially in combination with Bluetooth-connected hardware

• Identify, debug, and resolve issues to continuously improve application performance

• Proven experience in multiplatform app development for both Android and iOS

• Hands-on experience with apps that use Bluetooth connectivity

• Familiarity with connected Audio accessories

• Strong programming skills, particularly in Kotlin

• Experience with Jetpack Compose

• Comfortable working in Agile environments

• Excellent debugging skills to tackle complex issues

• Familiarity with third-party libraries and APIs
