As the PR Manager at Fairphone, you will be our reputation architect, strategically shaping our brand and impact narrative to highlight our value proposition, products, and services. Your core purpose is to build trust, enhance visibility, expand our audience reach, and drive engagement that directly contributes to key business goals like increased brand awareness and higher sales. You will be pivotal in shaping Fairphone's public image and fueling our success. 

Key Oblectives:

• Enhance Brand Visibility and Positive Reputation: Significantly increase Fairphone's positive media coverage and brand awareness across key target audiences and markets, effectively communicating its unique value proposition, products and services.

• Drive Strategic and Effective Communication: Develop and execute impactful PR strategies that demonstrably support Fairphone's business objectives, ensuring consistent and high-quality messaging across all relevant channels and maximizing the return on investment for PR activities. 

• Strategic PR Leadership: Develop, implement, and continuously refine Fairphone's public relations strategic plan aligned with our overall business goals.

• PR Plans Development & Execution: Lead the creation and execution of innovative and PR plans, identifying compelling newsworthy angles to maximize positive media coverage across relevant channels.

• Media Relations Expertise: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts. Proactively pitch stories, respond effectively to media inquiries, and act as a primary point of contact for journalists.

• Content Creation & Delivery: Take a hands-on approach to crafting compelling PR materials, including pitches, key messages, press releases, and Q&As, ensuring accuracy and impactful storytelling for targeted media and industry audiences.

• Event Management: Organize and execute successful press events, media briefings, and site visits, collaborating closely with the Brand Team on logistical and content aspects.

• Budget & Agency Management: Oversee and manage the PR budget effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation. Coordinate the work of external PR agencies and freelancers, including the identification and selection of new agencies in emerging markets.

• Brand Messaging & Consistency: Ensure consistent and high-quality representation of Fairphone's key facts, achievements, and messages across all media coverage.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with various internal teams (e.g., Brand, Marketing, Sales, Impact Innovation) to integrate PR and communication efforts into broader organizational initiatives.

• Spokesperson Management: Serve as an official spokesperson for Fairphone at events and within the media. Manage and support a network of internal spokespeople from different teams, providing them with up-to-date information and training to represent Fairphone effectively.

• Performance Analysis & Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of PR and communication activities, using data-driven insights to continuously optimize strategies and tactics for improved impact.

Must-Haves:

• 5-7 years PR/Comms experience.

• Excellent English writing & verbal skills.

• Strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

• Strong project & media relations skills.

• Spokesperson experience.

• Strong team player and people connector.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Tech sector knowledge.

• Relevant Master's degree.

• Dutch, French, or German language skills.
