About your role

Fairphone’s sales strategy is to successfully sell its products to consumers, companies and organizations who are keen to support our movement towards a fairer consumer electronics value chain. This not only means sales through Fairphone’s own webshop but also cooperating with like-minded partners in the industry, such as operators, distributors, retailers/e-tailers: this is what our Partners Sales team focuses on.

We are excited to bring onboard a hands-on Account Manager for our Business-to-Consumer team for the Dutch market. From day one, you will be responsible for nurturing and creating strong relationships with our established key partners and expanding the partner portfolio, which will contribute to our company growth goals. Drawing from your prior experience, you will quickly engage prospects and stakeholders and work with them on campaigns and strategic plans with both partner and Fairphone goals in mind.

Key Responsibilities & Objectives

Drive Sales Growth & Strengthen Partner Relationships

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets within the Netherlands, contributing to the overall revenue growth.

  • Build and nurture strong strategic partnerships with new & existing partners.

  • Enhance partner engagement by offering timely support, addressing challenges, and uncovering new growth opportunities together.

Effective Forecasting & Pipeline Management

  • Ensure accurate sales forecasting by consistently managing the sales pipeline and providing timely updates.

  • Track sales progress and adjust strategies to meet both short-term and long-term sales objectives.

Improve Market Intelligence

  • Stay updated and provide valuable market insights by tracking industry trends, competitors, and customer preferences as well as industry best practices, product innovations, and sales techniques.

  • Gather insights from partners and customers to nurture your growth mindset and contribute to product development and marketing strategies.

Collaboration & Team Alignment

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and customer support, to ensure smooth service delivery and a positive partner experience.

  • Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights and feedback to improve team processes and performance.

Increase Brand Awareness and Representation

  • Represent Fairphone at industry events, conferences, and partner meetings to build brand awareness and establish a strong presence in the market.

  • Communicate Fairphone’s story and values with enthusiasm to attract potential partners and consumers.

Core Activities
  • Territory strategy and GTM plan - Develop and implement region/partner-specific Go-To-Market plans in alignment with Fairphone’s mission and values. Ensure seamless execution of campaigns and product launches in collaboration with internal teams.

  • Review and Pipeline management - Updating the sales numbers received from partners, reviewing the stock levels and sales pipeline, and prioritizing key tasks and opportunities. Ensure accurate forecasting and update the sales funnel on a rolling 3-month basis

  • Engage with Existing Partners - Communicate with current partners to maintain strong relationships. Discuss, negotiate, and implement, together with the Channel marketeer, campaigns and other activities aligned with the GTM plan, driving overall growth of the partner.  

  • Campaign/activity management - With Channel marketing and partners, co-develop campaigns that drive sales and brand awareness. Build business cases and prepare proposals for partners.

  • Quarterly Business Review meetings - Prepare and build presentations reviewing past periods against objectives and concrete plans for the next period. Monitoring progress and agree on adjustments to achieve joint targets.

  • Housekeeping and reporting - Maintain up-to-date records in the CRM system, logging communications, deals, and progress and prepare weekly sales reports for the team and leadership.

  • Manage Partner Contracts and Agreements - Review and manage partner contracts, ensuring terms are in line with Fairphone’s standards. Negotiate and finalize agreements with partners.

  • Prospect New Partners - Keep up to date with territory and reseller landscape and prospect for new potential partnerships. Qualify new business leads and assess potential for collaboration. 

  • Sales and Market Analysis - Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.

  • Collaboration with Internal Teams - Work closely with marketing, product, and customer service teams to align strategies and ensure seamless service delivery. Attend internal meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and upcoming initiatives.

  • Attend Partner and Industry Events - Plan and prepare for upcoming partner meetings, industry conferences, and events. Represent Fairphone at events, networking and building new business relationships.

  • Customer Feedback & Insights - Gather and analyze feedback from partners to inform product development and sales strategies. Share relevant insights with the team to enhance the partner experience and product offering.

Your Skills & Experience
  • Experience in partner/account management, preferably in the B2C segment in the Netherlands

  • Passion for sales and understanding of the smartphones or consumer electronics industry

  • Experience in building and executing strategic growth plans

  • Strong planning skills and ability to drive sales initiatives

  • Experience building strategic partnerships with new and existing accounts

  • Cross-functional team collaboration experience

  • Familiarity with Google Docs and Sheets for business communication and case development

  • Experience selling to direct partners and via distributors

  • Hands-on, organized, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.
